1 · Responsible party

This website is a personal, non-commercial portfolio operated by Julius Pfundstein. For any privacy-related questions or requests, contact pigeon-effect@outlook.com.

2 · What this site collects

There are no user accounts, no newsletters, and no contact forms on this site. Two features do process limited data, and one third-party service is loaded only with your consent, as described below.

Anonymous comments. Project pages have a comment section. Anyone can post a comment under a self-chosen nickname — no account, email address, or other identifying information is required. Nicknames and comment text are stored in the site's database and are visible to all visitors. Comments are moderated by the site operator and may be removed.

Session cookie (sessionid). This site sets one strictly necessary cookie the first time you view a project or video page, like something, or leave a comment. It is used to (a) count each project or video as viewed once per visit rather than once per page load, (b) remember which items you've liked so the heart button reflects your own choices, and (c) briefly remember a comment nickname you've entered and enforce a short delay between comments to deter spam. This cookie holds no personal data beyond a random session identifier, is not used to track you across other websites, and is not shared with any third party.

Analytics (Google Analytics, only with consent). This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages get visited. By default, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent — the Google Analytics tag loads on every page in a consent-denied state and stays inactive. Analytics only turns on if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner shown on your first visit; if you click "Reject" or don't interact with the banner, it stays off. You can change your mind later by clearing your browser's local storage for this site, which brings the banner back on your next visit. See §5 for what Google Analytics collects once active.

3 · Server logs & hosting

When you visit any page, the hosting infrastructure automatically processes technical data in server logs: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested URL, the transferred data volume, browser type and version, operating system, and the referring page. This data is processed to deliver the site, ensure its stability, and defend against abuse (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is not merged with other data sources.

4 · Third-party content (CDNs)

Pages on this site load fonts and open-source libraries from third-party content delivery networks: Google Fonts (Google), jsDelivr, unpkg and cdnjs (Cloudflare), and d3js.org. Every page also loads the Google Analytics measurement library from Google's googletagmanager.com. As described in §2, that library defers any actual analytics collection until you consent via the cookie banner — but loading the script file itself, like any other CDN request on this page, already sends your IP address and standard request metadata (browser, requested file, referring page) to Google, regardless of your cookie choice. When your browser fetches any of these resources, your IP address and technical request data are necessarily transmitted to the respective provider, who may log the request under their own privacy policy.

5 · Google services

Some of the services embedded in this site are provided by Google (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC), including the fonts served from Google's servers. Please be aware that Google's intelligence and analytics services track and process user data — including your IP address, device and browser information, and how you interact with pages that embed them — and that Google may use this data for its own purposes, such as analytics, profiling, and service improvement, as described in the Google Privacy Policy. Where Google processes data outside the EU/EEA, Google states that it relies on recognized transfer mechanisms such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

6 · Local storage

The site remembers your light/dark theme preference in your browser's local storage. This value never leaves your device, contains no personal data, and can be removed at any time through your browser settings.

7 · Contact by email

If you contact me by email, your address and the contents of your message are processed solely to handle the inquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and are deleted once they are no longer required.

8 · Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data stored about you (Art. 15), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77).

9 · Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the site evolves — for example, when the site moves to a new hosting provider or new features are added. The current version is always available on this page.
